METIS NEWS

METIS performed exceptionally well during the ARCP process and we will continue to use this electronic portfolio in 2009/10. You will all be issued with your new portfolio year over the next few weeks. We are currently transcribing the new 2009 curriculum onto the summary of evidence section.

ALL trainees should now be on the new curriculum including trainees at years 3 and 5. However, for those trianees whose ARCP isn't due until January - you will continue to complete the portfolio you have currently.

  • Evidencing Competencies

Competencies can be evidenced in many ways and NOT just by WPBA's, though very important they cannot on their own fully demonstrate competence. Competencies need to be triangulated over a period time and with a wide range of assessors. A single competency can be evidenced using a WPBA, a letter from a patient, record of a discussion in supervision, record of something experienced whilst on call or a piece of reflective practice. Talk to other colleagues and find out how they are evidencing their competencies, you'll be suprised at the many ways you all do this or just give us a call. Don't forget to upload your madatory training certificates too - these include CPR, Breakaway, Induction local and trust wide, evidence of completing the PMETB survey and sickness records. All these are absolutely required at the ARCP.
