Welcome to the Mentors Page (Years 1-6)

During the course of your training, you may need or want additional mentoring about work-related issues. This might be above and beyond that usually provided within Educational Supervision with your Supervisor or Training Programme Director.

The information provided by the mentor volunteers is to help you choose a potential mentor. If you have been advised to seek mentoring, or if you think you would like to access it, then please contact the mentor directly and arrange to meet, and agree a two way probationary period (e.g. 6 months) to see if you get on, and if it’s helpful for you. Make sure you agree ground rules and how often you want to meet.

Remember that the agenda issues should be set by you! The aim is to help you with your career progression and to help you find solutions to any work related difficulties.

Please see other areas of this website for information about mentoring and pastoral care issues, and the Royal College of Psychiatrists website for detailed information about mentoring in psychiatry.
